Swallow's Day Parade in San Juan Capistrano - Saturday, March 24th

The annual Swallow's Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 24th in San Juan Capistrano, CA.

The Swallow's Day Parade is the nation's largest non-motorized parade. It is organized and presented by the San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association and takes place right in downtown San Juan Capistrano.

The Parade and Mercado is a full day of family fun, celebrating the Old West and the return of the swallows from their winter home in Argentina. Arrive early, as most street closures are in effect by 10:00 a.m. with the parade beginning promptly at 11 a.m.

This does sound like a great time for the whole family. The swallows and their return to Capistrano are famous.

I wish I saw your post earlier, Lee Ann, I forgot about the parade.

In 1971-72, Marco Forster was the only Junior High for the entire area, and most kids arrived via School Bus.  I lived in Laguna Niguel, and the Drivers would take different routes on different days, and on Swallow's Day our Bus Driver would take us through downtown San Juan Capistrano, so we could look out our windows and see all the people.  It was a real treat I'll never forget.
