Do you know about LED (light emitting diode) lights? The American Lighting Association has done their R & D in regards to this energy efficient bulb for household use. Each LED light has a long life span and can replace existing types of bulbs including incandescent, halogen & fluorescent. One LED bulb will emit 70% of its lumens at 50,000 hours so you can use it for 6 hrs a day and it will last more than 22 yrs. Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) are more affordable than LEDs and come in different shapes besides the original spiral. As the market gains momentum, the focus on energy efficient homes will grow… so it’s time to prepare. Interested in making the switch to LED lights? Try out one or two in your home before changing out the whole house. For more info, visit the American Lighting Association website or visit a store with an ALA-Certified Lighting Consultant.
